This is an early original study in pyrography and form. Created on a rustic reclaimed wood slab the piece features a horned skull set against a textured movement heavy background. The raw nature of the wood and the organic imperfections including a characteristic stain drip on the skull give this piece a gritty ancient feel reminiscent of old world rituals.
There is a sonic quality to the background linework that echoes the primitive rhythms of neofolk and ancient chant. It is a darker unrefined relic for those who appreciate the beauty in the rough and the stories told by weathered materials.
