This owl is watching you and it knows things. "Head of Parliament" is a hyper-detailed long-eared owl portrait burned, stained, and painted on a 12" pine round. The feather work is obsessive, every wisp and tuft rendered in fine pyrography against a deep, smoky stained background. The eyes are finished in resin, giving them a dimensional, almost alive quality that no photograph can fully capture.
This is an original hand-burned and painted piece on a round pine panel. The dark stained background makes the natural wood grain disappear into atmosphere, letting the owl command the entire surface.
