This is an intricate large scale original created on a professional maple skateboard deck. The underside of the deck features a sprawling memento mori scene. Using a combination of detailed pyrography and hand layered watercolors, the design depicts a skeletal figure amidst a lush underworld of mushrooms, lilies, and watchful spiders.
The artwork follows the natural flow of the "Tree of Life" as it transitions into the afterlife. It comes with a custom gold stained wall mount that allows the deck to be displayed as a floating sculpture. This piece is a signature example of the "reclamation" theme. It takes a functional object and transforms it into a dark botanical relic.
